Solar Systems

A Solar Photo Voltaic (PV) system consists mainly of one or more solar panels, a control panel, one or more batteries, and several lamps and one or more power sockets. Solar systems may last for 30 years with minimal maintenance. We have two types: a Solar Home System and a Solar Residential System.

A Solar Home System is the simplest system, usually with a 12 V DC circuit, one or more solar panels, a control panel, one or more batteries, several lamps and power sockets. It is a stand-alone system for small houses and businesses without regular power. It is suitable for lights, charging phones, a water pump and other small 12 V DC appliances. A Solar Home System can either be a “plug-and-play” packet or can be designed according to the needs of power.

A Solar Residential System is a more advanced system that can be used for homes, offices, clinics, as well as for hotels and larger buildings, usually with several solar panels, a controller unit, batteries and an inverter (converter) that transforms the low DC voltage into 220 V (or 110V) AC, meaning that it can be used with ordinary applications and combined with regular power. It can therefore also serve as a supplement and a back-up system in locations with frequent power cut (load shed). The system should be designed according to the specific needs for power.

Benefits

  • Provides ‘free power’ for up to 30 years;
  • Minimal maintenance;
  • Provides regular power without a generator;
  • Independent of electric grid, or can be combined;
  • Minimal risk of fire;
  • No noise, toxic fumes or exhaust;
  • It helps saving the environment.
